ABOUT THE TAGB
General information about the TAGB, its management council and Tae Kwon Do International.​
What is the TAGB?
Founded in 1983, TAGB stands for "The Tae Kwon Do Association of Great Britain." The TAGB currently has more than 25,000 members across 600 schools, making it Europe's largest single martial arts association.
In order to ensure the smooth running of the Association, the country is divided into ten areas and one representative from each of those areas is elected to form the Management Council of the Association.

What is the BTC?
In 1988, the TAGB helped found the British Tae Kwon Do Council (BTC), this being the only governing body recognised by the Sports Council.

The TAGB also helped found Tae Kwon-Do International, the object of which is to bring together Tae Kwon Do practitioners throughout the world.
Since its foundation in 1993, Tae Kwon Do International has grown to become one of the biggest world Tae Kwon Do bodies. Its championships are among the largest and best organised, drawing its participation from every contingent.

About TAGB Scotland
TAGB Scotland was founded in 1984, roughly one year after the TAGB itself was formed. It now boasts over 35 clubs across the country, offering its students a massive variety of instructors and training.
​
TAGB Scotland has a rich history of champion competitors, including four time world champion James Reed, three time world champion Hazel Bracken and a plethora of others!
​
TAGB Scotland offers the chance to train with the nation's best at it's weekly Squads session - this usually takes place just outside of Glasgow on a Saturdays. If you want to learn more about TAGB Scotland, click here.
